I haven't been active here on DA much lately.  Life has been busy, good... but busy.

I have been checking in, dropping a few notes here and there and checking out everyone's work as much as I can.  I never grow tired of seeing the wealth of talent that exists here on DA.  You are all amazing and truly inspire me.

I'd also like to thank John for the DD.  That was a nice surprise this morning.  It's people like John that make this community work.  I can't say that I'll be able to thank each and every fav or respond to every comment.  So just know that I really do appreciate it.

I hope to get more active within the next couple months... wildflower season is coming in TX and I don't plan on missing that photo-op!!!

Again... thanks to everyone!!! :)

Mike

Love the gallery! What lenses do you typically shoot your landscapes with?

Thanks :)

I will use one of three lenses typically. The Canon 10-22mm for superwide, 17-40L for medium wide, and 70-200L f4 for up close and personal.

Sweet! How do you like your 10-22mm? I always wonder how much curvature and distortion I would get out of a super wide focal like that.

I love it. There is some distortion, but it the optics are such that it's pretty much linear. For me it's the perfect lens for taking wide landscape shot, where I want to capture an image that the viewer can 'step into'.
